BLSC Shopping Awards: “Les Grands Prés” Mons nominated
On 13 October 2016, the BLSC (Belgian Luxemburg Council of Shopping Centers) will present its “Shopping Awards” to the best projects completed between 2014 and 2016. The event will take place in Brussels.
This competition organised every two years rewards developers who have excelled through their dynamism and originality in 3 categories: Shopping Centers, Retail Parks and Retailers.
For this 2016 edition, City Mall and its “Les Grands Prés” Mons project have been selected in the Shopping Centers category. After visiting the different projects an international jury made up of four members will reward the best nominee in each category by presenting it with a Shopping Award.
As a reminder, this year City Mall opened two extensions on its Mons site. This means that the “Grands Prés” is now the biggest business development in Benelux (+ than 100,000 m²). Ikea opened there in February 2016, at the same time as a dozen shops and an Atrium. Since mid-August 2016, a Retail Park developed by Ikea and 16 new shops complete the picture. It’s the first time in Belgium that Ikea has opened inside a Shopping Center.
Today, Mons “Les Grands Prés” has more than 110 shops, employs 1,500 people and has 4,200 free parking spaces at its disposal.
