Vitrine de l’Artisan 2016
Once again, City Mall supported the organisation of the ‘Vitrine de l’Artisan’, which rewards the most deserving craftsmen every year. The 2016 public prize was awarded by Pol Mirabelle, marketing manager of City Mall, to the Feryn sisters, who create bags and leather goods.
Yanne, Mira and Lize Feryn obtained more than 26.5% of the preference votes. After training in leather goods, these three very close sisters naturally chose to embark on this handicraft adventure by creating the Feryn brand. They produce handbags made entirely by hand, collector’s items pieces that are real works of art. These virtually unique pieces can be tailor-made: customers can choose the size, the colour, the design, the number of inner pockets, etc.
The Vitrine de l’Artisan, which strives to promote the diversity and richness of handicrafts among the general public and young people, has crowned Koen Boon as craftsman of the year 2016. Koen Boon is a carpenter in Antwerp and it was here, in the magnificent surroundings of the City Hall, that the prize-giving ceremony of this 11th event was organised in the presence of the Federal Minister of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses, Willy Borsus.
